(1) Water-based cutting fluid concentration management

Moreover, due to the low concentration, the lubrication performance of the cutting fluid is degraded, which leads to the increase of the tool wear and the deterioration of the processing quality. At the same time will reduce the ability of cutting fluid resistant to microorganisms, so cutting fluid prone to deterioration. So keep cutting fluid in the specified concentration is the main link of water-based cutting fluid management.
The concentration of on-site monitoring cutting fluid can be measured directly using an optical refractometer.
In order to maintain the normal use of cutting fluid, enterprises should be designated full-time staff preparation and monitoring of cutting fluid, replenish the new liquid and water.
 
(2) Anti-corrosion management of water-based cutting fluid
① Dilution water quality
The more pure water cutting fluid, the less likely to cause metal corrosion. In addition, the cutting fluid in the use of the process, the water is constantly evaporated and replenished, the supply of salt will be piled up, corrosive will be more and more serious. Therefore, the use of long time did not change the cutting fluid to regularly test the liquid salt content, such as the content is too high to replace the new liquid.
② Metal parts surface condensation
When the air temperature is high, the water will dew on the metal surface, because the use of water-soluble cutting fluid processing workpiece surface without oil film (synthetic cutting fluid) or film is thin (emulsion), poor water defense ability, so Easy to rust. In the rainy season, the metal parts are best coated with anti-rust oil after processing.
③Corrosion caused by different metal contact
Electrochemical corrosion occurs when different metals contact and are in the electrolyte solution, and metals with a negative electrode potential will continue to dissolve due to corrosion. Copper, aluminum and other parts placed on the machine cast iron bed processing, if placed for a long time, the use of electrolyte-containing water-based cutting fluid will produce corrosion, copper and aluminum chips fell on the bed with water-based cutting fluid, Not cleaned in time will produce corrosion.
④Corrosion caused by atmospheric environment
There is corrosive gas in the air, such as near seaside or salt well. Near the electroplating workshop, machine tools and metal parts are particularly prone to rust due to chloride ion or sulfuric acid in the air.
⑤Corrosion caused by pre-process residue
Materials such as hydrochloric acid remaining in the workpiece during heat treatment and electroplating can easily cause corrosion in subsequent processes. Therefore, these parts must be thoroughly cleaned before machining.
⑥Corrosion caused by loading and handling equipment
Untreated wood, cardboard and more acidic, when used to load parts, it will cause corrosion, with cast zinc materials such as baskets, boxes and other parts placed may result in dissimilar metal contact lead to electrochemical corrosion. Parts stacked during handling are also prone to rust, and these must be avoided.
⑦Corrosion caused by improper post-processing
After the parts are processed, they are blown away with compressed air to blow off the dirt of the parts, meanwhile, the cutting liquid film that plays a role of rust prevention is blown off, and the compressed air has moisture which easily causes corrosion.
⑧Corrosion caused by microbial proliferation
Water-based cutting fluid due to the propagation of microorganisms, the cutting fluid spoilage, cutting fluid PH value decreased, resulting in corrosive substances, so that machine tools and parts rust. To regularly monitor the cutting fluid PH value, bacterial content, regularly add bactericide or replacement of cutting fluid.
